The Restoration Center Handcrafted Care
|
As a music teacher in the early 20's, C. B. Perkins taught himself the
craft of luthiery in an effort to provide playable instruments to his
music students. The second and third generation staff at C.B. Perkins
Company continues that tradition by bringing playability back to old
instruments by way of restoration.
We take a very traditional approach to restoring vintage instruments,
retaining as much of the original character of the instrument as possible.
Whenever feasible, we utilize the same techniques and processes the
original builders used, ensuring an old school attention to detail
and respect for the instrument and its history.
In addition to being one of the most rewarding aspects of this business,
restorations are also the most time-consuming, meticulous and delicate
operations we perform. Because of the delicate and valuable nature of
the instruments, we accept only a small number of restorations per year.
If you feel your instrument warrants restoration, please contact us; we
can give you an honest assessment of the instrument and its needs.
